El Búho Estudio de Fitness is a small, independent fitness studio in Chiclana, created to help people move better, feel stronger, and live well for the long term.

I work with adults of all ages and abilities, offering small group classes, personal training, Nordic Walking and sleep coaching in a friendly, supportive, and non-intimidating environment. The focus is on sustainable movement, real-life fitness, and enjoying the journey — not quick fixes or extremes.

Why I started El Búho

I am a degree-educated personal trainer with nearly 20 years of experience in the fitness industry.

I hold:

  • Level 3 Personal Training qualification

  • Boxercise Instructor qualification

  • Nordic Walking Instructor qualification

  • Sleep Coaching certification

  • Oxygen Advantage breathwork training

Over the years, I’ve seen how often people are pushed towards unrealistic expectations around fitness and health. Through professional experience and personal learning, I became increasingly interested in how movement, sleep, breathing, nutrition, and lifestyle work together to support long-term wellbeing.

El Búho was created as a calm, welcoming space where fitness supports everyday life, rather than taking it over.

My approach

 

The approach at El Búho is holistic, practical, and realistic.

I believe in:

  • Building strength and confidence gradually

  • Moving in ways that support long-term health

  • Spending time outdoors and reconnecting with nature

  • Improving sleep, breathing, and recovery

  • A wholefood approach to nutrition, without extremes or rigid rules

Rather than chasing perfection, the focus is on feeling the positive changes that come from small, consistent lifestyle improvements — more energy, better sleep, improved mood, and greater confidence in your body.

Most importantly, I believe in enjoying the journey, not just chasing an end goal.

My story

After university in Bristol, my own lifestyle was far from healthy. I was drinking heavily and struggling with daily anxiety, low mood, and poor energy levels. On the surface everything looked fine, but underneath I didn’t feel well at all.

That period became a turning point. I decided to change my lifestyle and took a job in a hotel leisure club, where I trained, worked, and learned on the gym floor for over four years. During this time, I completed my professional training and began to understand how movement, routine, sleep, nutrition, and mindset can genuinely change how you feel day to day.

I later worked in a high-end fitness facility in Melbourne, Australia, gaining further experience before returning to Bristol to continue my work in fitness and personal training.

In 2019, after meeting my Spanish wife (who is from Chiclana), we moved to Spain for the birth of our first child. That move reinforced my belief in slowing things down, spending more time outdoors, and building a lifestyle that supports long-term health and family life.

Alongside my work with clients, I continue to challenge myself physically. In 2025, I completed my first HYROX event in Madrid, which deepened my interest in endurance, breathwork, recovery, and sustainable performance — not just pushing harder, but training smarter.

My own journey is a big part of why El Búho exists. I know first-hand how powerful small, consistent lifestyle changes can be, and how good it feels to move away from extremes and start feeling better again.
